This interface cable can be used to connect a barcode scanner via the RS-232 port. The accessory is compatible with almost all MERTECH scanners.
The RS-232 port is used on older models of computers and specialized equipment. Like the more common USB interface, it is intended for connecting peripheral devices to a central device. Using this port allows for freeing up a slot for other devices.
