Receipt printers

A receipt printer prints sales receipts, guest checks, kitchen orders and service payment slips. The MERTECH and MPRINT range includes thermal printers with 58 and 80 mm print width, an auto-cutter and USB, RS-232, LAN, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection. They work with POS software and suit retail stores, cafes, restaurants, services and delivery.

How to choose a receipt printer

Paper width. 58 mm is enough for a small shop and short receipts, 80 mm is the standard for supermarkets, restaurants and kitchen orders.

Print speed. G58 models print at 100 mm/s, F58 at up to 120 mm/s, and G80, Q80, F80 and F91 at 200–250 mm/s. For a steady flow of customers choose 200 mm/s or faster.

Interface. USB for a single checkout, Ethernet or Wi-Fi for a kitchen printer or several workstations, Bluetooth for printing from a tablet or phone.

Cutter and lifetime. The auto-cutter is rated for 1–2 million cuts, and a cash drawer connects to the RJ12 port.

Software and supplies

The printers support ESC/POS commands, so they work with most POS software. Only thermal paper of the right width is needed: no ribbons or cartridges. A receipt printer is usually bought together with a barcode scanner and other POS equipment.
