Label printers

A label printer prints stickers with the price, ingredients and barcode right where you need them: in a store, warehouse, pickup point or production site. Your own printer removes the need to order labels from a print shop and lets you change a layout in a minute. Types of label printers

• Direct thermal printers print on thermal paper without ribbon. They suit price tags, scale labels and marketplace stickers with a short life.
• Thermal transfer printers transfer ink from a ribbon, so the print does not fade or smudge. They are used in warehouses, production and for textile labels.
• Desktop printers stand next to the operator or the checkout.
• Mobile printers are carried around the sales floor or warehouse and print from a smartphone via Bluetooth.

Key specifications

Resolution. 203 dpi is enough for price tags and shipping labels, 300 dpi is needed for small fonts and small 2D codes.

Print width. Up to 58 mm for price tags, 100–108 mm for marketplace and courier labels.

Print volume. An office or small shop prints a few hundred labels a day, a warehouse needs a model rated for thousands of labels per shift.

Connectivity and software. The printers work over USB, RS-232 or Ethernet, support ZPL and TSPL and label design software such as BarTender, and connect to 1C and warehouse management systems.
